University-linked course at the BAMZ
Two organisations have joined forces to put on an undergraduate course at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo.
The Island's Atlantic Conservation Partnership (ACP), together with the St. John's University, in New York, is partnering on the course which covers topics including the natural history of Bermuda, geography, culture, sustainability challenges and economic development.
Five Bermuda students have been sponsored to take part free of charge in the course, which runs to May 29. Seventeen undergraduate students from St. John's University will also be taking part.
The programme includes field trips to different study sites across Bermuda, as well as lectures by Bermudian scientists on marine life, Bermuda birds and the Island's coral reefs.
"We are very excited about the launch of this programme, because it will benefit both Bermudian and foreign students, and provide a wonderful exchange of ideas and educational opportunities for each," said ACP's Richard Winchell.
