Yoga session for solstice

Standing in the cool morning air inhaling the fresh South Shore breeze and gently bending your body in the glow of the sun rise need not only sound idyllic you can live it.

For the past five years yoga teachers in Bermuda have gathered at Astwood Park, in Warwick, to experience their morning yogic ritual together. The annual event takes place every June 21, the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.

"We've chosen that day because of its strong associations with reconnecting to mother Earth," said yoga teacher Elaine White.

The sunrise practice will take place tomorrow at Astwood Park at 5.45 a.m. and in addition to sun salutations and yogic asanas will include dawn meditation, and sunrise chanting. It is free to all.

Participants should bring a yoga mat or towel and drink and something to eat after. For more information contact Mrs. White on 505-9642.
