Butterfield Bank dropped 7.4 percent (10 cents) to $1.25 on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 36,573 shares during the day.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. also slipped 5.5 percent (30 cents) to $5.20, with 24,400 shares changing hands.

Fellow insurer BF&M Ltd. meanwhile declined 1.5 percent (20 cents) to $13.50, as 2,200 shares were transacted.

The only other trader was the Ascendant Group Ltd., which traded 374 shares, but its share price held firm at $14.95.

Overall the Index fell 54.7 points (4.57 percent) to 1,141.58, with 63,447 shares worth BD$208,430.05 and 500 shares worth US$5,250 changing hands.

The BSX Insurance Index also slid four points (0.4 percent) to 999.
