Banks fall on BSX
Banks proved to be the biggest losers on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) on Friday.
Butterfield Bank's common shares dropped 10 cents (1.94 percent) to $5.05, with 22,119 shares traded, while it also saw 170 preference shares change hands.
Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. also fell 10 cents (1.02 percent) to $9.65, as 1,000 shares were transacted.
Elsewhere, the Ascendant Group Ltd.'s shares rose 50 cents (3.12 percent) to $16.50, with 2,000 shares traded, while KeyTech Ltd. slid 25 cents (2.7 percent) to $9, as 12,500 shares changed hands.
Overall, the Index declined by 15.87 points (0.68 percent) to 2,305.79, with 37,619 shares worth BD$267,932.10 transacted, and 1,004 shares worth US$213,210.60 changing hands.
The BSX Insurance Index was up 6.59 points (0.71 percent) at 929.84.
