BSX takes hard hit
Banking, media and transportation were the hardest hit sectors on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) last week.
Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. and Butterfield Bank lost $1 and 90 cents off the value of their share prices respectively, but LOM (Holdings) Ltd. saw its shares rise five cents.
Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. also declined 95 cents, while MediaHouse Ltd. increased its stock by 25 cents.
Stevedoring Services Ltd. dropped $1 and Bermuda Container Line Ltd. was down five cents as well.
Other traders included Argus Group Holdings Ltd. (25,400 shares), KeyTech Ltd. (19,902), Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. (4,427), Belco Holdings Ltd. (4,233), Devonshire Industries Ltd. (400), West Hamilton Holdings Ltd. (25), but all of their share prices held firm.
Overall the Index fell 171.57 points (3.61 percent) to 4,749.29, with 171,028 shares worth $2,602,116.40 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 13.85 points (1.34 percent) at 1,019.14.
