Belco bounces back

Belco Holdings Ltd. bounced back from its earlier losses during the week with a successful spell's trading on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The utilities company saw its share value rise $1 (five percent) to close up at $21, with 2,000 shares traded.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. dropped 40 cents (2.5 percent) to finish on $15.55, as 1,000 shares changed hands, while Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. also declined 25 cents (1.58 percent) to $15.50, with 1,000 shares being transacted, and Butterfield Bank fell 10 cents (0.58 percent) to $16.90, as 12,144 shares were traded.

Other traders included KeyTech Ltd. (1,000 shares) and BF&M Ltd. (55), but their share prices remained unchanged.

The Index as a whole dropped 15.08 points (0.3 percent) to 4,998.89, with 17,199 shares worth $293,673 changing hands.

The BSX Insurance Index inched up 0.68 percent to close at 1,089.26.
