It was a day of ups and downs on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

Belco Holdings Ltd. increased five cents (0.23 percent) to $21.05, with 957 shares traded, while Butterfield Bank fell 15 cents (0.89 percent) to $16.55, as 23,626 shares changed hands.

As a whole, the Index declined 25.46 points (0.51 percent) to 4,947.06, with 24,583 shares worth $412,398.60 being transacted throughout the day.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, inched up 0.36 percent to close at 1,057.38.
