Workbook stories of Sarah Catherine return
Sarah Catherine, the little girl living in the 17th century St. George's who charmed our hearts last year, returns to the pages of The Royal Gazette tomorrow. In the Lifestyle section you will find the first of a new series of six stories written by local author Trudy Snaith and sponsored by the English Speaking Union.
Also in tomorrow's Gazette is a workbook sponsored by Belco to help children and their parents enjoy the series together. In the workbook there is space to paste the stories and prompts to encourage further discussion. Parents are encouraged to pull out the workbook and keep it for use with the rest of the stories.
Readers may remember that ten-year-old Sarah Catherine lives with her parents in one of the thatched cottages clustered near the water on St. George's Island in the English colony of Bermuda. Her parents came to the island as indentured servants before she was born, but having completed their term of indenture, now work for themselves.
Subsequent stories appear weekly every Tuesday in the Lifestyle section of The Royal Gazette.
