Each year, the Secondary Department raises funds for Children International in support of a child. This year, the youngster will be Maikel Amaguaña Macias of Guyaquil, Ecuador.

Other charities to benefit from the students' fund-raising this week will be cancer charity PALS and 'Forever Angels, an orphanage in Tanzania.

As part of 'Rag Week', students took part in a Sponsored Read plus Capture the Flag, while they are also doing a' Line of Coins' with the change from their pockets, a Grub Day on a 1980s theme and Flan the Teacher on the school field.

For Silly Sports Day, students were set to compete in obstacle courses, a two-legged race, plus a greased 'pig' toss and egg toss.

Former Secondary History Head, Rachel Hucker, introduced the concept of 'Rag Week' to students in 1999-2000.

Over the years, students have raised more than $30,000 for Bermudian and overseas charities, voting for causes through their School Council representatives.
