Phillips wins title
Bermuda's Sullivan Phillips and his APOEL team-mates are the Cyprus basketball champions after beating title rivals AEL 83-73 in the final.
APOEL, who were attacked on their team bus after game three, won the five matches series 3-1 last Friday.
For Phillips, it was his fourth overall title and his first with APOEL.
The Bermuda international said the title was evidence that the team's hard work had paid off.
"Everyone is excited especially some of the younger guys because it's there first one so the mood is very high," said Phillips. "My fondest memory for me is having the trophy in your hands because that's when you realise that all the dedication, adjusting and working hard pays off.
"It's the moment that defines how you play as a professional to win championships.
"We played in euro challenge and we made it to final eight, which only one team has ever done from here so it was big deal.
"Honestly as for next season I am looking at options by it's too early too decide just ready to come home and relax."
Phillips has picked up the Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Defensive Player of the Year Award as well as the getting an Honourable Mention in the All Division Team.
