Amy Dot Peniston, daughter of Denise and David Peniston of Pembroke has been named to the Dean's List at Duke University in North Carolina.

Ms Peniston is a Junior studying biomedical engineering at Duke's Pratt School of Engineering and is a former BHS student.

She is among 2,018 students who achieved that honour (1,430 on the dean's list; 588 on the dean's list with distinction) for the Spring 2010 semester.

At the Pratt School of Engineering, students must rank in the top third within their academic class to make the dean's list; for Dean's list with distinction, the top tenth within their academic class.
