Dennis Tucker has been appointed a common councillor at the Corporation of Hamilton.

Mr. Tucker, a director of Bank of Bermuda and former president of Sandys Rotary Club, was uncontested in his bid, the Corporation said in a statement yesterday.

He is CEO of the Hotel Pension Trust Plan and a former vice president and managing director of Sonesta Beach Resort, where he is said to have gained extensive experience in finance, labour relations, marketing and management.

Mayor of Hamilton Sutherland Madeiros said in the statement: "On behalf of the Corporation of Hamilton, I would like to congratulate Dennis on being appointed as a Common Councillor.

"His strong management and labour relations background will be of great benefit to the Corporation and it is my pleasure to welcome him aboard."
