Man intimately touched schoolgirl
A 45-year-old Warwick man yesterday admitted inappropriately touching a teenage girl while on her way to school.
Dwayne David Beach, of Camp Hill, told Magistrates' Court he touched the young girl's private parts on October 5.
He also admitted to kissing her on the left cheek and intruding upon her privacy during the attack in Paget.
Crown counsel Maria Sofianos said the incident happened around 7.30 a.m. while the victim was in her school uniform.
Beach approached her saying, "Good morning, how old are you?"
He proceeded to ask her what her favourite colours were, before he grabbed her by her right hand and pushed her between two cottages.
Beach began to gyrate on top of the girl in a sexual manner before kissing her on her cheek.
He told the victim: "If you do not tell anyone I will spoil you."
She managed to pull her hand from his grasp and run away. She made her way to school and immediately reported what had happened to a faculty member.
She later identified Beach as her perpetrator and he was taken to Hamilton Police Station for questioning.
He admitted to speaking with the victim and touching her face, but said it was a friendly gesture. Later he told Police if the attack did occur it was because he was intoxicated.
Beach was represented in court by lawyer Kenneth Savoury.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered pre-sentencing reports for Beach. He remanded him in custody until sentencing on December 14.
