Police received reports of gunshots last night but found no evidence that a firearm was discharged.

The reports were made in the Jones Village area of Warwick at about 10.30pm.

Officers conducted extensive door-to-door enquiries in the surrounding area and checked CCTV but could find no evidence to confirm the reports.

A police spokesman added that King Edward VII Memorial Hospital did not indicate anyone was treated for gunshot wounds.
