Latin restaurant to open doors tonight

There will be a distinct South American flavour to the centre of Hamilton when Latin restaurant opens its doors tonight.

The new venture, which is based in Bermuda's first ever official 'green' building at Victoria Place, 29 Victoria Street, will comprise a Latin restaurant, Spanish-themed bar called Rumbar and the Java Jive cafe.

This evening the restaurant opens for dinner by reservation only, with Rumbar serving drinks from 4 p.m., while it is expected to be open for lunch and dinner by the end of next week.

Latin, which will be run by business partners Phil Barnett, Don Dunstan, Marius Dier and Tom Carr, who own and operate the Island Restaurant Group, will offer everything from tapas to fish, seafood and paella and seats 50 to 60 people in the main dining room, with the outdoor balcony overlooking the courtyard housing a capacity of 40.

Rumbar has seating for 25 at the bar and a has a variety of cocktails and tapas available.
