Promising Bermuda golfer Nick Jones, currently attending college in the US, won the Golf Channel's amateur tour event at the Red Tail Golf Club in Sorrento, Florida over the weekend.

Jones carded an even-par 72, posting two birdies and two bogeys, and was one-under until dropping a shot at the final hole.

His next tournament will be the Disney Major this weekend at the Magnolia and Palm courses in Orlando.

At Red Tail, Jones beat his nearest rival, Christian Harris, by two shots in the Championship Flight.
