5.6% The Consumer Price Index in October, 2007, down slightly from the 17-year high of 5.9 percent recorded in September 2007. The continuation of high fuel-adjustment fees on Belco bills meant that the fuel and power sector saw a 40 percent increase from October 2007.
7.9% The amount food prices jumped year on year, and were up by an unusually high two percent from September 2007.
$129 billion The capitalisation of Bermuda's reinsurance industry, an increase of more than 20 percent at the end of the third quarter of 2007.
$83,935 Bermuda's per capita gross domestic product in 2006 – the highest in the world after it soared by 10.3 percent. In 2006 the Island generated $5.35 billion of wealth, its strongest growth performance in the past ten years.
