A 27-year-old Southampton man sustained injuries to his face and right hand after being involved in a single vehicle collision.

Last night the man was in stable condition in a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The accident happened at 3.15 a.m. on Tuesday on Middle Road in Paget near the junction with Chapel Road. Police report the man was travelling west on Middle Road when he lost control of his cycle and fell to the ground.

Inquiries are underway.
