First Harbour Night of 2009 is tonight

Harbour Nights kicks off again for the summer season tonight and is set to be the best yet, according to the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is encouraging locals and visitors alike to flock to Front Street for the event, which is a collaboration between the Department of Tourism, Pickled Onion, Hog Penny, Flanagan's, Café Cairo, Bermuda Bistro, Norwegian Cruise Line, Sound Concepts and an assortment of 60-plus street vendors and entertainers.

The street is set to come alive with arts and crafts, face painting, live music, dancing, Gombeys, the Bermuda Regiment and an extensive food court.

According to the Chamber, these "are all set to make the 17th anniversary of the longest running festival the biggest and best yet".

The event runs each Wednesday night until August 26, from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m., and the street will be closed to motorised traffic from 6 p.m.
