Sniffer dog 'nips' child at airport arrivals

An airport sniffer dog 'nipped' a child at the L.F. Wade Arrival Hall last Sunday, however the injuries were not serious.

The Royal Gazette understands that the child's skin had not been broken and the child's family are not interested in pursuing this matter.

A Police statement said: "A dog handler was on duty in the Arrivals Hall on Sunday evening at L.F. Wade International Airport when the dog made contact with a small child. "

The statement said the child was being evaluated by a doctor; however the injuries do not appear to be serious. The dog has been withdrawn from duty and a full investigation is underway.
