Village have the edge over title rivals PHC

Somerset Trojans v

Dandy Town

A tale of two teams travelling in opposite directions.

For Trojans, they must find any way to get something out of tomorrow's game at Somerset Cricket Club.

No one has stepped up in striker Adrian Burrows' absence through injury, which is one of the main reasons why they have struggled.

Town will need to improve on their recent showing against Hamilton Parish if they are to maintain their lead at the top of the table. With games winding down and rivals playing each other, this will be a good chance for them to move a step closer to the league title.

Predictions: Town 2-1

Boulevard v

Hamilton Parish

Boulevard can look to avenge their FA Cup loss to Parish with a win here at BAA Field, and heap more pressure on Hot Peppers who are entrenched in a relegation battle.

Blazers have nothing to play for other than pride and have looked a shadow of the team that won the FA Cup last season.

For Parish, they will be looking to move above Somerset Trojans in the table and look for an avenue to get closer to those hovering above the drop zone.

Prediction: 2-2

North Village v

PHC

The match of the week will see one of these two, or both, drop further back in the title hunt as the each match becomes crucial.

North Village took care of Boulevard a fortnight ago to end Blazer's chances of winning the league, but will run into a bigger task in PHC. Having relinquished their Friendship title recently, Zebras will certainly be looking to bounce back and keep pace with league leaders Town.

The loser at Bernard Park will have it all to do to get back into the title scramble, while a draw will be two points lost for both teams.

Prediction: Village 2-1

Devonshire Colts v

Devonshire Cougars

Cougars will look to complete the double against their rivals and keep their slim title hopes alive at Police Field.

Knowing they need to get help from others before they can get into the reckoning, the defending champions must take care of business at their end before looking elsewhere.

A win in this match and, if other results go Cougars' way, the front-runners will have to start looking over their shoulders. Colts have started to distance themselves from the relegation zone and points in this match would see them potentially climb a spot.

A derby match is hard to predict, but I give the champions the edge in this one.

Prediction: Cougars 2-0

Southampton Rangers v

Somerset Eagles

A mid-table game involving two teams separated by a point in the standings, with both teams clear of relegation but no chance of winning the league. Yet, both sides will use this match at Southampton Oval as preparation for their respective cup competitions.

Rangers advanced to their second successive Friendship final, while Eagles have a FA Cup semi-final to look forward to and want to build some momentum going into that match.

Prediction: 1-1
