Tough early test for defending champions
Devonshire Cougars v North Village
The defending champions will feel they were dealt an injustice after their controversial defeat on the opening day of the season to Somerset Eagles.
Having fought back from a man down only to lose in an agonising way, Cougars will certainly not be in a charitable mood against Village tonight.
Yet, they can't afford to lose focus with Village coming to the Den fresh off the back of a deserved win over Devonshire Colts at Bernard Park and will be looking to continue early momentum.
A win for Village will go a long way to re-establishing themselves as early contenders for the title.
Prediction: 1-1
Somerset Eagles v Dandy Town
The battle of the Russells will undoubtedly be the match of the weekend.
The showdown, pitting brothers Antwan and Tokia against each other for the first time in their careers, will also see the two table-toppers do battle.
Eagles are coming off an excellent win over Cougars and will be looking to add another big name scalp to their list when they host Hornets at White Hill Field on Sunday.
But a rampant Raymond Beach and company will not go down without a fight.
Beach already has three goals in two games and will be looking to capitalise on any miscommunication at the back for Eagles.
Prediction: 2-2
Hamilton Parish v PHC
Parish have not looked like the side that survived the drop last year and need to change things around fast before they find themselves in a deep hole before November comes around.
A Dudley Eve loss on Tuesday against Hornets didn't help a side struggling to find any consistency and facing PHC won't help either.
Zebras are coming off two hard fought games in the first week of the season and will look to make it two wins out of two in the league following their win over Southampton Rangers.
Coming up against a Parish side that doesn't seem to be close to getting into their stride should see PHC claim another victory.
Prediction: PHC 3-0
Devonshire Colts v Somerset Trojans
Colts fought hard in their opening game loss to Village and will look to continue with that intensity when they face Trojans.
Keishon Smith's side should certainly be a better team than last year considering a number of their college players have returned.
But Somerset probably deserved a win against Hot Peppers last weekend and will be confident of achieving their first three point haul against Colts at Police Field.
Prediction: Trojans 2-1
Boulevard v Southampton Rangers
Boulevard had a rough first week of the season and will look to get back on the right track with a win over Rangers.
After losing to Town, they suffered another setback in their Dudley Eve opener, losing defender Ajani Gibbons who had to be stretchered off against PHC.
Blazers have big ambitions for the season and anything less than a win will be unacceptable for coach Andrew Bascome.
Rangers were hard done by in their clash against PHC after taking the lead before losing 2-1.
Catching Blazers at this time may be a blessing for Rangers who could just sneak out a result.
Prediction: Blazers 2-1
