Man gives himself up to Police after latest shooting murder

A man turned himself over to Police during the weekend in connection with the murder of Dekimo Martin.

Police confirmed yesterday that the man turned himself in on Saturday.

He was then formally arrested by Police for Mr. Martin's killing, the fifth on the Island this year.

Mr. Martin was gunned down shortly before 1 a.m. Friday while at his house on Peacock Crescent in Somerset. He was shot three times from behind. Neighbours found him in a pool of blood.

Mr. Martin, 24, was recently released from prison after serving time for assaulting a woman. He had been charged with attempted murder when he was 18, however a trial was never pursued.

Yesterday Police confirmed his arrest and said: "No additional arrests have been made. A court appearance is expected in due course."
