No charges in school 'bomb' incident

A student accused of exploding a homemade bomb at Dellwood Middle School will not face criminal charges, The Royal Gazette understands.

The 14-year-old boy became the subject of a Police investigation after the device was detonated on January 19, but a source said officers were unlikely to charge him, preferring to let the school deal with the matter.

A Police spokesman said: "The Bermuda Police Service is still liaising with the Dellwood Middle School to find the appropriate action to take — by either the school or Police — against the student allegedly involved in that incident."

School principal Jeanette Musson has not responded to several requests for comment.
