Rookies set for Miami training

Paul DeCouto will show the rigours of motorcycle racing to a group of beginner riders who travel to Miami next month to experience what it takes to be a professional rider.

DeCouto, who was recently crowned the super bike champion of Bermuda, will take the group of individuals, aged 18-years-old and up, to Miami from December 8th to the 14th.

The super bike champion said those who go on the annual trip will come back with motivation and inspiration to reach the top of the sport.

And with two spots available, DeCouto is handing an invitation to anyone who wishes to go on the trip.

"I'm taking a group of beginners to Miami International Raceway to give them a chance to see what the sport is all about," said DeCouto. "The group will consist of people 18-years-old and up.

"It's an annual event that we do and it's good track experience for people who are new to the sport or want to get in the sport.

"I have two spots that have opened up and are putting them out to the public for anyone that maybe interested.

"During the trip you can earn your riding license.

"It's a beginner's school and riders will be able to do a beginner's course. There's also an advanced class for the more experienced riders.

"Anyone who is interested can give me a call, and we can get them signed up.

"The benefit of getting your license to ride out there (US) is that you can come back to Bermuda and jump on any bike you choose, as opposed to if you started straight away in Bermuda you would have to start on a bike without gears.

"The number one expert rider in the US, Jeff Wood, will also be on hand to put riders through their paces and help with any questions they may have."
