Wanted: Young people with an interest in debating
Young debaters are being sought by the Health Insurance Department to participate in a health financing summit in November.
High school students who are passionate about debating issues that affect the Island are invited to a attend a casting call on September 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.
It will be followed by debate coaching with Gladstone Thompson of Dynamic Debaters and Learners, and a competition to select six finalists.
The finalists will debate at the opening of the Health Financing Summit, and will receive an Apple iPad, along with tickets to the event's banquet.
According to a Government press release, the debate aims to engage the public in discussion on the health care financing issues facing Bermuda today, as well as to educate young people.
