The US Consul General is warning people to plan their visas well ahead in the run-up to the Christmas holidays.

The visa section is undergoing a reorganisation which will reduce the number of appointments available.

New Consul General Grace Shelton said: "We want to forewarn people to make their appointments as far ahead of their proposed date of travel as possible.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience to the public, and are working hard to resume regular scheduling."
