Information session on Club Med implosion set for tomorrow

The former Club Med hotel in St. George's now has its last day standing determined — the building will be imploded on August 25.

Hoping to keep the public informed about the demolition project, Government is organising a public information session to be held tomorrow between 7.30 and 9 p.m. at East End Primary School.

The meeting will be attended by the demolition contractor, who will explain the plans and answer question.

The Ministry of Works and Engineering is encouraging members of the public, particularly St. George's residents, to attend the meeting.

The Club Med hotel closed two decades ago, and has since remained unused despite a number of developers showing interest.

Premier Ewart Brown announced in April that luxury hotel operators Bazarian International have made a deal for the property.
