Castle stung with six-month club ban
PHC Zebras assistant coach Jack Castle has been slapped with a six-month suspension by his club that could force off him off the bench for the remainder of the season.
According to sources, the former Zebras defender is alleged to have thrown a drink in the face of club executive Patricia Seymour during a heated argument.
It is understood that Castle took matters into his own hands after Seymour allegedly blamed him for PHC's shock 2-1 home loss to Dandy Town Hornets at Southampton Oval last month.
Seymour is also alleged to have threatened to have Castle sacked during the heated verbal exchange that took place at PHC's makeshift clubhouse at Warwick Lanes.
Ironically, PHC president Chris Furbert was written up earlier the same day for allegedly making insulting remarks to senior referee Anthony Mouchette over Zebras' shock loss to Hornets.
Furbert has been summoned to appear before a Bermuda Football Association (BFA) disciplinary committee, while Zebras' hierarchy dealt with Castle last week.
When contacted yesterday PHC vice-president Mark Wade declined to comment. Castle also held his cards close to his chest ¿ but did not rule out the possibility of appealing against the six-month ban.
Earlier this year Castle was sacked as assistant national coach following a long-running feud with former national team coach Keith Tucker at the height of Bermuda's 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
"The short time I was with Keith things were very challenging as a support team member for this disorganised coach," Castle argued.
