Peter Hodson has been appointed as deputy chairman of the board of Butterfield Trust (FE) Ltd., the Bank of NT Butterfield & Son's Hong Kong based trust company.

Mr. Hodson is a qualified lawyer and experienced and accredited mediator, who has concentrated on the private client trust area, being based for more than 20 years in Hong Kong.

Latterly he has provided advisory services in relation to highly complex fiduciary structures, private trust companies and family offices, from Guernsey.

As a member of the board of Butterfield Trust (FE) Ltd., Mr. Hodson will help oversee the development of Butterfield's trust capabilities in Hong Kong under the leadership of Nic Bentley, head of the Group's operations in Hong Kong.

Mr. Bentley said, "Peter's tremendous technical knowledge and his depth of experience in Hong Kong, as well as of the trust industry internationally, will contribute enormously to our fulfilling our ambitions for our Hong Kong trust business. I welcome him to our Board."

As well as trust and international private offices in Hong Kong, Butterfield also has trust operations in Bermuda, The Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Malta and Switzerland in addition to an international private office in the UK. Butterfield Trust recently won Trust Company of the Year at this year's Citywealth Magic Circle awards.
