Premier Ewart Brown has won an Apex Award, an honour presented annually by Black Meetings and Tourism Magazine for distinguished service.

According to reports from the Bahamas, the Bahamian Minister of Tourism and Aviation Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace accepted the award on Dr. Brown's behalf.

He reportedly pointed out that he and Dr. Brown are close colleagues and friends.

"If anybody is wondering about Bermuda and the Bahamas, we both compete and cooperate," he is quoted as saying.

The awards, which were part of the Travel Professionals of Color conference in Nassau, Bahamas, recognise contributions that have positively impacted travel and tourism.
