Three more book trip to Carifta

Three more young Bermuda athletes qualified for next month's Carifta Games last weekend.Despite the poor conditions at the National Sports Centre on Saturday, Juma Mouchette, Daniel Emery and Blaine Simmons all put in good performances to book their tickets to the Cayman Islands.Mouchette met the ''B' standard in the 1,500 metres in a time of 4 minutes 23 seconds, Emery also met the 'B' standard in the 100m with a 11.1 finish, while Simmons qualified for the 'A' standard in the 100m in 10.9

Richardson shines

in triathlon

Triathlete Kent Richardson had a strong start to his season in Florida on Sunday.

The Bermudian finished second in his 50-plus age group with a time of two hours, 11 minutes, 57 seconds. It was good enough to place 92nd overall in a field of 1057 entrants.

Fellow Bermudian Travis Cooper also took part and finished sixth in his 35-39 age group with a time of two hours, 14 minutes and seven seconds. Cooper finished 113th overall.

The Olympic distance race attracted a field of 32 professionals.
