Bermuda's top tennis talent Gavin Manders lifted the Deloitte Open title with a win over David Thomas at Pomander Gate on Saturday.

The Island's Male Athlete of the Year beat Thomas 6-4, 6-3 in men's singles final.

In the female final, Tara Lambert defeated her sister Jacklyn Lambert, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Duffy 20th in Iowa

Bermuda Olympian Flora Duffy finished in 20th place in the Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines, Iowa yesterday.

Her overall time was two hours, three minutes and 54 seconds.

A total of 51 elite female athletes took part in the race.
