Woman injured by taxi on pedestrian crossing

A 59-year-old woman was hit by a taxi while on a pedestrian crossing this week.The Warwick resident was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH) and treated for bruises.The incident happened around 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the junction of Front and Parliament streets.

The Warwick resident was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH) and treated for bruises.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the junction of Front and Parliament streets.

"The Warwick woman sustained bruising and pain to her body," a Police spokesperson said. "She was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and later released. The driver, a 52-year-old St. George's man, was not injured and the taxi was not damaged."

He continued: "The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend the actions of two men who were passing by at the time and assisted the victim."
