Seven drug suspicion arrestsSeven people were arrested on suspicion of drug possession over the weekend.According to a Police spokesperson five men and two women, ranging in age from 19 to 34 years old, were arrested by officers exercising their "stop and search" capability.

Seven people were arrested on suspicion of drug possession over the weekend.

According to a Police spokesperson five men and two women, ranging in age from 19 to 34 years old, were arrested by officers exercising their "stop and search" capability.

The arrests took place along Middle Road in Southampton and Sandys parish.

Police inquiries are ongoing.

Training exercise gunshots

Reported gunshots in St. George's were fired by members of the Bermuda Regiment, according to Police.

Officers said they were informed of gunshots in the Ferry Reach area at 5.45 a.m. Sunday.

"Police attended the scene a short time later and conducted inquiries in the area, which revealed that the Bermuda Regiment was conducting a training exercise in the area," said a spokesperson. "Therefore no further Police action was required."

Burglary in Devonshire

A burglar made off with cash and personal items from a Devonshire home.

The thief was discovered in the North Shore residence at midnight on Sunday by the woman who lived there.

A Police spokesperson said: "The intruder demanded money and a quantity of cash was given to him by the Devonshire resident. The suspect, described as a brown skinned male of stout build with a low haircut, dressed in a green short-sleeved polo shirt and long blue jeans, made good his escape with the cash and personal items."

Inquiries into the incident are underway.

Driving arrests

Three people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving over the weekend.

According to Police, nine burglaries were reported.

There were 14 damage only road traffic collisions and five road traffic collisions resulting in injury, also reported.

Six vehicles were reported taken without their owners' consent.
