Providing first-year students with supplies
The Bermuda Junior Service League (BJSL) has donated school supplies for students entering primary one in Government schools.
'Stuff the Buss' is now in its seventh year. It ensures that all P1 students start classes on an equal footing.
The BJSL distributed a range of supplies recommended by Government based on numbers provided by individual schools more than 500 pencil cases were stuffed with items and delivered in time for the start of the school year.
Said BJSL's project chairperson Fiona Hunter: "This is a fantastic project and one I believe helps the most important part of our community.
"Providing all the P1 students with the necessary school supplies allows everyone to start the year on equal footing and concentrate on the joy of learning."
The BJSL is an organisation of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community in which we live.
Its members contribute more than 2,500 hours of volunteer time to Bermuda annually.
