Robinson in top 100 in NY race

Road runner Otis Robinson finished 82nd in the New York Road Runners' annual Joe Kleinerman 10K race through Central Park, New York at the weekend.

The Southampton runner was part of a race field of 6,700 who covered the 6.2-mile route during freezing weather conditions.

His finishing time was 36 minutes, 39 seconds.

"It was about 32 degrees. I went out hard as I was wearing shorts and vest and wanted to try to heat up," said Robinson.

His first mile was just under five minutes and he kept a good pace, clocking himself at five miles in around 27.50, but he then suffered in the final mile and slowed up on the course which he described as 'bumpy'.

The race was won by Bado Worku Merdessa in 30.02
