BFA name new committee chairmen

Bermuda Football Association (BFA) yesterday announced the appointment of chairmen for their various standing committees.

Robert Calderon, twin brother of newly-elected president Richard, has been appointed chairman of the association's technical and development committee, Gregory Grimes replaces Charles Clarke as referees' committee chairman while long-serving BFA executive Jon Beard is the new chairman of the youth committee, previously held by Cal Blankendal who resigned last week.

Fireman Troy Brimmer and referee Anthony Francis retained chairmanship of the BFA's safety and security and website and records committees, while Lee Holder will serve in the dual capacity of league and cup competitions and club development chairman.

Devonshire Colts' coach Ray Jones is the BFA's new finance committee chairman while president Richard Calderon, who defeated predecessor Larry Mussenden by a landslide 15-6 margin in the recent elections, will chair the association's education committee.

Jones is also the BFA's new treasurer, having replaced Andrew Griffith who resigned from the post prior to last month's BFA Annual General Meeting. Former referee committee chairman Clarke also resigned in the lead-up to the AGM.

Also appointed yesterday was former technical committtee chairman Mark Trott as new chairman of the BFA's women's football committtee.
