Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Bermuda (BBBS) is holding their annual Tag Day today and tomorrow.

Representatives from the organisation will be standing outside of various businesses around the city and around the Island, accepting donations to help fund the non-profit organisation.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Bermuda is a charitable organisation that provides children, primarily from single parent homes, with positive and caring role models.

Through professionally supported, one-on-one relationships, the children are able to "build lasting relationships that enhance their emotional, social and recreational well-being," according to the organisation.

Progressive Labour Party MP and supporter of BBBS, Patrice Minors, who is also a former Big Sister, said that she would be doing her part by devoting sometime to the Tag Day.

Mrs. Minors has been an active member of BBBS since 1987 in addition to holding executive positions within the organisation.

She said: "Because of family and political obligations I have not been able to devote as much time to the organisation that I feel is needed, however, I will be out there supporting the Tag Day and helping them to raise the needed funds."

Currently, there are approximately 202 children who are registered in the BBBS program and of this number there are 120 matches and 82 unmatched little brothers and sisters.
