Dill still awaiting work visa

Terrence Dill flies out of the Island tomorrow to attend pre-season basketball training camp while he still awaits his work visa.

Dill has been signed by Buffalo Stampede who will play in the newly-formed Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL) this season.

Already late getting to camp, the Bermudian will make his way to New York under his visitor's visa and train rather than wait in Bermuda and missing out on training.

"I'm doing the training camp which runs until the beginning of season, then I'll come back to get a working visa and still be ready and able to play in the first game," said Dill yesterday.

"Once my visa is ready, I'll come back for a short weekend to get it and sort a few things out and be ready to start the season.

"Training started yesterday and I need to be there and participating so I can be ready for the season."

Dill returned home last week, hoping to receive the working visa that allows him to play in the US. But the process is taking longer than he anticipated.

The 24-year-old said he couldn't afford to miss any practice time as he looks to impress both his coaches and team-mates.

"The visa would take two to three weeks and I would basically miss the whole training camp, something that I can't afford to do," he said.

The Stampede begin their league campaign on December 4 when they host Hudson Valley, with Dill hopeful of playing in that match.
