Argo appoints Denton to property segment
The Excess and Surplus Lines (E&S) business segment of Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. has announced the appointment of Michael Denton as senior vice-president of its specialty property department.
"We are pleased Michael has agreed to join Argo Group and lead our property department," said Mike Warfield, president of Colony, Argo Group's largest E&S division. "With more than two decades of experience in the property business, Michael brings a dimension to our strategy that will allow us to better position Argo Group's specialty property business in the US."
Mr. Denton brings 22 years of experience in the property underwriting field and most recently served as senior vice-president of brokerage property at General Star Management Company. He previously was with USF Reinsurance and Hartford Insurance Group. Mr. Denton holds a bachelor of science in finance from the University of Oklahoma.
Also joining Argo's specialty property department is Andrew Robinson, who will report to Mr. Denton. Mr. Robinson was most recently vice-president with Direct Fac Reinsurance, where he was responsible for production and new business development, as well as managing a difference-in-conditions book of business.
