Bermudians enjoy long Christmas break

In spite of some harrowing incidents over the Christmas holiday such as a stabbing murder and the Tynes Bay Incinerator fire, many Bermudians kept in good spirits during their Christmas holiday.

Royal Gazette junior reporter Sharla Bean and photographer Meredith Andrews hit the streets of Hamilton yesterday to find out how Bermudians had enjoyed the holiday.

"I had a good Christmas," said Kae Thomas "It was my first Christmas with my grand-daughter so we enjoyed ourselves."

"My Christmas was good I guess," said Derek Corbett. " I ate at my granny's house. My best gift was a television."

Will Drover said that his holiday season was "good, so far. There were a lot of presents for my daughter to open up."

"Christmas was lovely, except for the fact that I injured myself. It was a blessing and I'm grateful for the many gifts that I received." said Deidre Jones.

"My Christmas was wonderful, but earlier this year my grandpa died so it was our first Christmas without him," said Stephanie Outerbridge.

Malyn Redula also enjoyed the holiday

"It was really wonderful, much better than last year."
