Senator issues writ

Mrs. Cannonier, who was also the former head of the Public Service Commission, issued the writ against the Bank of N. T. Butterfield and Son Ltd. for an injury she suffered at the bank.

Dennis Dwyer, of Hector, Dwyer and Associates, said the claim dates back two years and followed an accident at the bank, where Mrs. Cannonier was deputy manager of corporate banking.
No settlement amount had been agreed and the writ had been issued after the claim could be not be settled, he said.
Mrs. Cannonier was sworn in as an Independent Senator in March. She resigned as head of the PSC at the end of last year.
