Heron One went to the island directly north of Cocoa Bay around 10.51 a.m. and took the man to the Black Horse dock where he was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Bermuda Harbour Radio also reported that it coordinated the pinpointing of a distress signal that has been intercepted around 3.25 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Using radio direction finding equipment, the source was tracked to Ginger Pepper anchored on Castle Harbour.
Once conataacted the Ginger Pepper reported that its emergency beacon had fallen from a broken bracket which has triggered the distress mechanism.
The beacon was re-secured and all transmissions ceased. Harbour Radio contacted the Bermuda International Airport and US Coast Guard were advised of the nature of the signal
