BCS profits rise 55 percent
company's secure communications network, boosted Bermuda Computer Services (BCS) profits by 55 percent to $286,227 for the first six months of the financial year ended June 30.
Meanwhile earnings from the company's retail computer centre fell. The Computer Centre had earnings of $97,435 on sales of $2.13 million compared with earnings of $139,295 on sales of $2.23 million in the first six months last year.
The decline, attributed to growing competition and pressure on margins, was offset by increased earnings in the company's agency and communications divisions.
The agency division net income was $252,912 compared with $208,954 in the six months last year. The new communications division had net income of $58,052 in the first six months.
"The consulting revenues of the agency division continue to grow and seem limited only to the company's ability to provide such services,'' a press release stated.
