Miss Universe to pay visit to Island
promoter who will be sponsoring a visit from Miss Universe.
This year's winner of the Miss Universe contest, Wendy Fitzwilliams, is from Trinidad and Tobago.
Promoter Choy Aming said he will be bringing Miss Universe to Bermuda during the weekend of November 23 to participate in a number of charity events including a fashion show.
He said he was attempting to organise former Miss Bermudas to model in the show.
And Mr. Aming and his sister Kim Sabeeney have won a bid to promote next year's pageant in Trinidad and Tobago.
"This will be the first time the Miss Universe pageant has been held in the Caribbean...there have only been two black Miss Universes, and we had both,'' he said.
"Donald Trump and his committee came to Trinidad and looked around and agreed to have it there.
"Hopefully one day we'll try to get the pageant here to Bermuda, but I think we should have a Miss Bermuda going up every year to participate,'' he said.
