Beer thief conditionally discharged

from The Shopping Centre was given a six-month conditional discharge in Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Sgt. Peter Giles, prosecuting, told the court that on July 1 Steven Liburd, of Parsons Road, was seen in the Victoria Street supermarket.
The store's floor manageress watched Liburd take a beer from the counter and approached him. She told him that they did not sell single bottles of beer.
"Liburd then walked around the store with the bottle before drinking it and leaving the empty bottle on a shelf. The beer was valued at $1.10,'' said Sgt.
Giles.
Magistrate the Wor. John Judge ordered Liburd to pay the Shopping Centre $1.10.
