Moses to visit Island

Edwin Moses, who won more than 120 consecutive races in the 400-metre hurdles from 1977 through to 1987, will be on the Island as part of Olympic Day on June 23.

Moses was invited by the Bermuda Olympic Association and BOA president Austin Woods yesterday confirmed the American would be coming.

A three-time Olympian, Moses won the gold medal at the 1976 Montreal Games with a world record time of 47.64 seconds. After winning another gold at the LA Games in 1980, Moses settled for the bronze with a time 47.56 in the 1988 Seoul Games.

This year will see the formation of the Bermuda branch of the World Olympians Association which will include local Olympians from 1936 to 1996.
