School to drop hooded jackets

Instead of the fleeced-lined, hooded jacket which is a part of the school uniform, students will wear a zipped-up hoodless jacket.

The Royal Gazette has been told the change was due to security officers' inability to identify students who misbehaved.

"With the hooded jackets, everyone looks alike,'' a source said. "Evidently there won't be any more jackets sold with hoods to CedarBridge.'' But principal Ernest Payette yesterday denied that the change was for security reasons.

"Students currently have hooded jackets because it is cold up here,'' he said. "But we have asked them not to wear their hoods during the school day.

Next term students will have a different type of jacket.'' Mr. Payette explained the jackets will be warmer with a zipper in front and no hood.
