Officials at the centre are tracking the "tropical waves'', from the west coast of Africa towards the Caribbean.

BWS metereologist Ed Loder said there was nothing out of the ordinary yet with the systems but said in certain cases, when the conditions were right, the waves could develop into storms.

They could predict the waves up to four days in advance and nothing is expected at present, although there was always the potential for a storm to develop.
